Yes, I have contacted the concerned department and there are no repair manuals available. Update - I opened my d only a little -- did not take it apart -- and spent a few hours cleaning the cartridges, printheads and some of the muck in that well area at the inside right. Its only when I use preview and then accept that I get the error. In the hinge area there is two black pull latches. Suck it up and get rid of it. There was and still is so much gunk in there, it's hard to know where the machine ends and the gunk starts, like "Aliens".

Both models I was officejeet to fix by taking them apart and cleaning the place where the print heads rest when the unit is not printing.

The online rep I just worked with told me the unit would work better if it was plugged directly to the wall jack to avoid the "scanner failure" - I purchased 2 of these at the same time and the failure started at the same time they are in different offices and the usage is less on one of them - I am curious to know if all of you with the same problem have had the printer for just under 3 years???

Thanks for marking this as the answer. Then clean the scanner bulb gently, its thin glass and the mirror s with a cotton swab sparingly moistened with Windex or a similar cleaner.

For me, ink d15 size is a major concern.

However, I am sorry to inform you that we do not have that information. I had to contact support, but all they do is make sure you try connecting the printer to the wall outlet instead of a surge supressor, then a different wall outlet, then reset to factory defaults.

Two latches must be released to remove it. And this is not an uncommon problem with these aio's. Let me know if you have any issues with the printer.

He gave me an outside company that does HP laser printer maintenance for us, and this fellow agreed with me that new HP officejet and deskjet printers are flimsy compared to a few years ago and that some are more expensive on ink consumption. Uninstall the existing printer software and driver, and then install the latest version from HP Software and Driver Downloads.

Could you let me know whether the printer's power cable is connected directly to the wall jack Three Prone Power Outlet or to any of the surge protector? I know how to reset ink guage but never had this message before. Both times I fixed the problem, and got the unit working again.

I did everything, clean the glass, change battery. The screw can now be seen using a flashlight but may be obscured by some wires.

Especially as other functions are off - the document feeder hasn't worked for some time. Can't do anything else.
